Circadian rhythm study shows how fat cells dance to the beat of their own drum

">AdminLDBlights | | Article

I have another new circadian rhythm study but this time not about the wake/sleep cycle. So click on this link and read all about it today!

The circadian rhythm of the human body, the biological process behind its natural sleep and wake cycles, have been linked to all kinds of health outcomes through recent research. These include slowing the growth of cancer cells, driving stress and recently, influencing the body’s metabolism. Researchers have again placed this under the microscope by performing the first ever analysis of circadian rhythm within fat cells, finding they appear to have body clocks of their own and use them to share the heavy lifting throughout the day.

Philips is now offering a variety of webinars for the architectural lighting designer. The one I chose, involved using the mindset of Zen in your design creations. Click here to go to their site. They offer a wide range of webinars and online courses.

Their webinars include powerpoint and voice-over lectures, plus a Q & A at the end. The length varies but they are usually around one hour overall.

The multi-media presentations usually include both technical data and photos of projects by the lecturer.

Stop by their site and register your email so you can receive webinar and lecture updates directly from Philips.

Two lecture series will be offered. The first will concentrate on the history of stage lighting, power distribution and control. And the second series will focus more on how to think like a lighting designer, including how to choose your color palette and the timing of transitions for dance.

Be prepared for eight days of information, complete with visual material.

There will be a lighting laboratory at the conclusion of the series where we will experiment with sculpting dance bodies with light and color.

A few remaining spaces are available for the second series.
